The robotic surgery method, which in recent years has been used in many operations in our country too, provides with its advanced technology a comfortable working area for doctors as much as for patients.

The robot named “Da Vinci”, which provides a safe working environment thanks to the camera on the robotic arms that can present a three-dimensional and magnified image, consists of three main systems. Contrary to what is commonly believed, the operation is not carried out autonomously by the robot on its own.

The operation is performed by the surgeon sitting at the console from which the robotic arms are controlled and directed. Besides the console, the device, which consists of three main systems, has the section in which the robotic arms are located and the tower section in which the camera system and the light source are located.

Full control with robotic surgery

The surgeon sitting at the console manages the whole system and the operation from there. With the advanced control mechanism and the precise robotic arms in which there is no tremor whatsoever, the operation can be completed safely.

The pedals and the control unit located on the console are the units that provide all the movement. The surgeon who sits at the console places their hands on the control sections and from there directs the robot arms with hand, finger and wrist movements.

Does the surgeon becoming less tired affect the patient’s operation?

Our answer is definitely yes. The surgeon, resting their head against the upper part as well, performs the operation thanks to the three-dimensional image magnified 10 to 15 times that comes from the camera. Because its height is adjustable, every doctor can use the console without difficulty. In addition, the fact that the surgeon performing the operation is in a seated position also means they become less tired and can concentrate more, and it likewise reduces errors due to fatigue to a minimum.

Precise Touches

With the superior technology brought by the new generation of surgery, the operation becomes far more precise than with the open method. The robotic arms, which can rotate up to 540 degrees, open the way for intervention in tissues that are difficult to reach with normal methods.

The robotic arms, which have an extremely fine tip and a delicate structure, can readily cope with every kind of precise intervention. In addition, with these arms, which do not tremble like the human hand, the risk of damaging the surrounding tissues in the operating area is also eliminated.

Besides this, the control mechanism located on the console has also been designed in such a way that it can damp down the surgeon’s possible small hand tremors. In this way, a high success rate is achieved in the operation performed with the robotic surgery method.
