Immunological Disorder in the Development of Endometriosis
Endometriosis (the chocolate cyst) is becoming more and more of a health and social problem with each passing day. However, diagnostic biomarkers and more effective treatment methods are still not available today.
Many researchers have focused their studies on the peritoneal micro-environment in endometriosis patients. One of the findings is that long-term chronic inflammation in the micro-environment causes immunosuppressive cells to accumulate and the progression of endometriosis to accelerate.
In general, a complex relationship has been identified between the immunosuppressive state, chronic inflammation, miRNAs and the progression of endometriosis. Research to understand the underlying molecular mechanism of the relationship between Mo-MDSCs, cytokines and miRNAs in endometriosis is continuing.
