Although uterine cancer is generally seen frequently during the menopause, it is in fact one of the diseases that a woman of any age can catch. This cancer, women’s nightmare, arises as a result of the abnormal division of the cells in the layer covering the wall of the uterus. As with every type of cancer, early diagnosis is very important for this type of cancer, known as uterine or endometrial cancer too.

Do You Have Knowledge About the Symptoms of Uterine Cancer?
Cancer is a mysterious condition that medicine has been trying to solve for long years. Besides types of cancer that have been fully solved, such as cervical cancer, there are also types of cancer in which early diagnosis is of vital importance. One of these is uterine cancer. Knowing the symptoms relating to this type of cancer helps a person to listen to their body better.

Bleeding After the Menopause
In women, irregular periods are seen at the beginning of the menopause. However, it is also useful to go to a doctor after bleeding or spotting that occurs once periods have stopped completely. The bleeding may be in the form of spotting or in the form of a heavy menstrual bleed. In addition, whether or not there is pain during the bleeding, these symptoms should be examined in detail.

Irregular Bleeding During the Menstrual Period
In women who have not yet entered the menopause, irregular menstrual periods, especially bleeding between two menstrual bleeds, can be a finding of uterine cancer. Women who have bleeding between periods need to be careful with regard to uterine cancer and it is useful for them to see a doctor.

Discharges Can Give a Warning
Although it is known that some vaginal discharges are healthy, attention needs to be paid to discharges that herald an illness. Discharges that are not of a disturbing amount, odourless and colourless can be regarded as normal. However, when foul-smelling, slightly bloody and watery discharges are seen, a specialist doctor should be consulted for the necessary tests.

Pay Attention to Sexual Intercourse
While bleeding and pain occurring during or after sexual intercourse can be seen more in cervical cancer, less often it can be a symptom of uterine cancer. In addition, a feeling of discomfort occurring in the abdominal area is also among the signs of uterine cancer. In the advanced stages of uterine cancer, symptoms such as weight loss, constipation and exhaustion may occur. Women should give their bodies the care they need and, when they come across a situation that is out of the ordinary, they should certainly see a specialist instead of finding excuses of their own.
